MAJNM
A virtual + in-person program designed to develop the core management practices and practical knowledge to lead today’s nonprofit organization.
Students explore social challenges and develop the creative problem-solving skills to successfully lead organizations or launch their own. Fieldwork internships provide students with unique, real-world experiences that establish their abilities as nonprofit professionals and build a network of career professionals already serving in the field. Alternatively, students can stay working in their full-time careers in the Jewish nonprofit sector.
Degree Requirements
- Virtual Summer Courses: 2 virtual summers of coursework totaling 34 credits (minimum) in Jewish Studies, Jewish Communal Dynamics, and Nonprofit Management.
- In-Person Immersive Experiences:
- Leadership Conferences: These 5-day experiences held at the beginning of each summer, alternating between Los Angeles, CA and New York City, NY enable you to learn more about the sector while also connecting in-person with fellow students and faculty.
- Israel Education Component Introduces Jewish professional leaders to the social, political and cultural dynamics of contemporary Israel.
- Professional Practice: 1-2 years of supervised professional practice and related seminar course in an experiential learning environment that is constructed to meet educational objectives by integrating leadership theory with on the job learning, or get credit for your job in the Jewish nonprofit sector.
- Capstone Project: Our Capstone Course, titled “Lean Launchpad for the Jewish Nonprofit” replicates the experience of a high-tech business accelerator in order to develop leaders who can innovate within existing organizations or launch their own startup.
