The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive officer of Adat Shalom and is responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial management of the organization. The ED will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and community stakeholders to advance the mission and ensure the sustainability of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
- Provide visionary leadership to staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Represent the organization in the community and build relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and government agencies.
- Financial Management:
- Oversee the financial health of the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, donations, and sponsorships.
- Event & Program Development:
- Support coordination of synagogue events.
- Lead the development and implementation of programs and services that align with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Establish metrics for evaluating program effectiveness and impact and ensure continuous improvement.
- Board Relations:
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure effective governance and support.
- Provide regular updates on organizational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Assist in the recruitment and orientation of new board members.
- Human Resources Management:
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, training, and development of staff and volunteers.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that values diversity and equity.
- Implement performance management systems to support staff development and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in non-profit management, with a proven track record of leadership and Organizational Development.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting, accounting, fundraising, and grant writing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Adat Shalom.
- Experience working with a Board of Directors and understanding of governance best practices.
Compensation: $70k-$90k annual salary range, plus benefits and gas/phone allowance
