ZSJNM Receives a Naming Gift

The HUC-JIR Zelikow School of Jewish Nonprofit Management has been named in honor of Marcie and Howard Zelikow in recognition of their recent $6 million transformational gift. Marcie has been a long-time leader of the ZSJNM Advisory Council, as well as a member of the HUC-JIR Board of Governors and the LA Board of Overseers. She and her husband Howard, also a prominent lay leader in the LA community, are strong advocates for the ZSJNM’s unique mission: to provide a practice-based graduate education for new generations of Jewish professionals to shape the future of the American Jewish community.

The Zelikow gift will enable the ZSJNM to expand its graduate degree programs to the other HUC-JIR campuses in Cincinnati, New York, and Jerusalem, as well as to initiate executive education opportunities for professionals already in the field. In addition to an Executive Masters in Jewish Nonprofit Management, other professional certificates are being considered, such as in Synagogue Management and in Global Jewish Leadership.

The official dedication of the Zelikow School of Jewish Nonprofit Management was on Sunday afternoon–February 8th, 2015–in conjunction with the HUC-JIR Board of Governors meetings in Los Angeles.
